Born and raised in the small town of Hotchkiss, Colorado, Ira recognized early in his life a passion for metalwork. He first learned to work with metal by welding on his family farm. He continued his education at Mesa State College in Grand Junction and graduated with degrees in Welding and Machine & Manufacturing Trades.
Ira has honed his skill to create a wide variety of furniture, balustrades, sculpture, and hardware, including cabinet hardware, curtain rods, bathroom sets, towel holders, and door latches. He uses traditional forging techniques as well as modern welding fabrication to create his unique pieces.
